- Duana introduced us to the POST method
- worked on some more regular expressions but then realized we did some weird stuff with git and spend most of the afternoon trying to undo it

To be honest, today we didn't make that much progress (we were a bit "under the weather") ...

Below the HTML workshop with Duana (left one) and the two Rails Girls Teams and Erik, when we did our insights-meeting last Friday (on the right) Today Steffi Tinder from ThoughtWorks decided to spend her day off coaching and motivating us. Welcome everyone to our first blogpost! We are sooo excited our Summer of Code has finally started! Today we had our first day at the SoundCloud office. We are still totally overwhelmed by EVERYTHING. Our workspace is amazing, we got our own Macs for the time being and we met a whole lot of cool and interesting people. Everyone has been really welcoming and friendly. Also we met the second Rails Girls Team hosted by SoundCloud: Michelle and Caroline!
This is what we achieved on our first day:
After all that, we went to the Kick-Off BBQ, hosted by DaWanda. There we met Linda Liukas, the founder of Rails Girls, and lots of people from the Berlin Ruby scene and beyond. Everyone was very encouraging and we had a great time! P.S. Of course we also tried out SoundCloud's inhouse photo booth - as you can see! We actually look better in reality... |
