About us
We are Kathi Zwick and Brigitte Markmann, two aspiring software developers based in Berlin. We met in December 2013 at our first Rails Girls Workshop. We figured out that we would make a great team for the Rails Girls Summer of Code - and guess what - we got accepted as a volunteer team! Yeah! :)
Our team
We are super thankful and amazed by all the support we are receiving: our coaches on this adventure are Klaus Fleerkötter and Erik Michaels-Ober, as well as Duana Stanley and Stefanie Tinder as backup coaches. As mentors we are happy to have the following people on board: Stuart Campo, who is the Project Coordinator and Lead for RapidFTR from UNICEF. From ThoughtWorks we're mentored by Sri Prasanna aka Batman, Subhas Dandapani and Raymond Matovu.
Always there for us for organizational and moral support is our supervisor Tam Eastley, a successful participant of last year's Summer of code, now a Junior Developer at adeven GmbH.
Our workspace during this summer is heaven aka paradise aka the new SoundCloud office in Berlin Mitte. Thanks a bunch for hosting us!!
Our project
RapidFTR is a Ruby on Rails/Android application that lets aid workers to collect and share information about children in emergency situations, so they can be reunited with their families. We will help upgrading the current app to version 2.0.
