- we kicked off the day with a green smoothy - very healthy!
- yesterday's effects in RapidFTR were triggered by success events. Today we added effects in case of errors appearing.
- we added an ajax error handling function.
- as this didn't work out immediately we had to use the debugger (surprise!). This is JavaScript's equivalent of Ruby's binding. pry .
- we also used console.log(data) for debugging - with this the console (in Chromes inspect element) tells you what data gets returned.
- created random errors. By doing so we were able add yet another three ruby keywords to our checklist: case, when, then. By now half our RGSoC is over :( But at least we already know half of the keywords!
- we heard that JavaScript is a bit crazy. If you really want to make sure something is equal to something else, you have to use threequals (yes, apparently thats a word): === Using just two as in Ruby is not a safe bet here.
- held a demo with Caroline and Michelle. At the moment they are struggling with the same stuff as we are. So it's not just us...
